There is no limit to the number of activities that can be enjoyed in Honolulu. From the beautiful beaches to the scenic hiking trails, the possibilities are endless. However, there are also some unique things to try the next time you’re in the “Aloha State”. How would you like to board a submarine and travel to a depth of 110 feet? Well, with Atlantis Adventures, you can do just that. Located within view of famous Diamond Head, Atlantis adventures offers underwater tours in the the safety and comfort of an air-conditioned, Coast Guard approved, REAL submarine.
The tour starts by pickup from your hotel or a hotel nearby. You’ll then be transported to the Hilton Pier in Waikiki where you are given a boarding pass and a dive log. After that, it’s a quick 20 minute boat ride to the submarine. Once onboard, you’ll submerge to different depths where you will encounter numerous artificial reefs including a sunken ship and an old ys-11 airliner. In addition, the Atlantis dive site is often frequented by green turtles, sharks, stingrays, eels, and many other species of marine life.
It’s amazing how relaxing a submarine can be. Besides being ultra quiet, the ride underneath the surface is very calm and slow paced. It’s kinda like the peaceful feeling of scuba diving but unlike diving, in a submarine you get to explore the underwater environment without wasting any energy. Plus, since the submarine is pressurized to sea level, you can dive to deep depths and return to the surface without having to decompress which is so cool.
I really enjoyed my submarine adventure! It’s an excellent way to peacefully explore the underwater world and is a great tour for people of all ages. Children will especially love it because they get learn numerous facts about submarines as well as the ocean and all of its wonderful creatures.
Many thanks to Atlantis Adventures for allowing me to experience your Submarine Tour. All opinions, as always, are my own.
