Turks and Caicos are a beautiful set of islands just southeast of the Bahamas. Known for their soft sand and crystal clear water, these islands are very appealing to beach lovers around the world. Most tourists visit the island of Providenciales often referred to as “Provo” which is also the most populated. Highlights include Leeward Beach, Malcolm Beach, and the very popular Grace Bay. The majority of Provo’s resorts are found along Grace Bay Beach. As beautiful as this beach is, it can also be very crowded. If you are looking to book a hotel in Provo, I recommend the more secluded Northwest Point Resort.
Northwest Point has their own private beach and a lush garden that encircles a pool and hot tub. Beside the pool, you’ll find the resort’s appropriately named Water’s Edge Grill. In my opinion, they prepared some of the best seafood I’ve ever had! Be sure to try the lobster fritters and the beer battered fish.
One of the things I loved most about Northwest Point is that I could drive into town in the morning and enjoy a few hours at Grace Bay Beach, but by early afternoon, I could be back at my relaxing resort enjoying a cold Turks Head lager by the pool.
If you choose to stay at Northwest Point, be sure to check out Malcolm Beach. The road there is very rocky, but the destination is well worth the bumps. I actually enjoyed this beach more than Grace Bay. The crystal clear water and panoramic views make it a great spot to spend an afternoon.
I would definitely recommend Northwest Point Resort to anyone looking to spend some time in Turks and Caicos. The friendliness of their entire staff made my stay both pleasurable and memorable.
Many thanks to Northwest Point for hosting me in Turks and Caicos. All opinions, as always, are my own.
